It was the year 2012 when Bollywood's most famous actress, Manisha Koirala, discovered she had cancer. After extensive treatment, she was cured of the disease, or it can also be said that after a long battle, she was able to defeat the disease.
But when she learned about her cancer, and what she felt while fighting and recovering from it, is worth everyone knowing and understanding.
Manisha Koirala, while talking about her cancer in an interview with Filmfare, said, "It was the longest and loneliest night of my life. The night I heard the news, I was alone in the hospital. I wasn't in any pain. But the fear of death definitely overpowered me. I can't describe that feeling in words."
She also said other things in that interview, such as, "I think these things teach you lessons. You face the harsh truth of life, and it changes you. You realize that the things you used to value were never important. People may stand by you in your difficult times, or they may not. Therefore, it's important to always maintain strong relationships with good people. I had hoped some people would stand by me during those times, but they didn't. I felt bad at the time. But I was naive. Now I realize how difficult it is for people to live with someone dying."
What She said makes it clear that, whether a person is big or small, there are certain situations in life that one must first deal with by convincing oneself. At that time, one needs people around one who are truly genuine and who, through their humanity, can help and encourage oneself that everything will be alright. Just keep moving forward. It is a different matter that Manisha Koirala is a very famous Hindi film actress and she would not have been short of money for the treatment of a disease like cancer. However, there are many people who, despite spending a lot of money, are unable to escape such illnesses. Yet, in times like these, one needs the support of friends and loved ones.
